According to The English Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High Schools(2020 Rev.),the senior high school students are required to express their ideas effectively in English,but the ubiquitous indoctrination and low interactive oral English teaching mode is difficult to coordinate with the standard of oral expression ability.The Ecological teaching mode emphasizes the harmonious student-centered,teacher-led oral English teaching environment,strengthens the multi-interaction between teachers and students,and hence realizes the educational function of classroom ecology.It lacks more detailed researches on English subject of ecological teaching mode in the domestic and foreign academic fields,especially the profound discussion on oral English teaching.In view of this,based on the theory of education ecology,guided by input hypothesis,output hypothesis theory,the study is to explore the influence of the ecological teaching mode on high school students’ oral English expression in the teaching process,involving the language learning subject,and learning environment,and thus put forward the solution of the phenomenom.It aims to address the following two issues:(1)What effect does the application of the ecological teaching mode have on the fluency of senior high school students’ oral English?(2)What effect does the application of the ecological teaching mode have on the accuracy of senior high school students’ oral English?To response to the above problems,it carried out a 15-week teaching experiment in a key senior high school in a certain city,with a total of 60 students in two parallel classes of grade one.The experimental class applies the ecological teaching mode to teach oral English,while the control class adopts the conventional oral English teaching mode.It uses oral tests,questionnaires,interviews and other tools to explore the influence of the application of ecological teaching mode on the fluency and accuracy of oral English expression of senior high school students.SPSS 23.0 software is used for data analysis and statistics,and the research problem are discussed.The findings are as follows:(1)In terms of oral English fluency among senior high school students,the learners speak faster,the sound time ratio is increased significantly,and the average number of pauses is remarkably reduced;but the speed of pronunciation and average language flow length are not so striking.(2)In terms of accuracy,the vocabulary accuracy has been significantly improved,and the words are more diverse and accurate;but the grammar accuracy is not high,and the grammar development is relatively slow.The results show that the ecological teaching mode promotes the fluency and accuracy of oral English expression on senior high school students,and has a positive influence on oral English teaching,which is feasible and enlightening. |
