Abstract/Summary:
This article has a prospection of calligraphy, starting begin the studyexperience of Master Hong Yi, and there are some own views through thewhole words. He is proficient in all kinds of art, and the calligraphy through hiswhole life. Becoming a monk is a watershed of Master Hong Yi, and this is alsoa watershed of his calligraphy creation. There are many reasons to explain whyhe became a monk, and after that he created his own calligraphy style.I wrote this thesis based on the historical data, and finding a clue of thechanging development between people and book, observing as a common side.There are three chapters in this article. The first chapter talking about thecharacters of Master Hong Yi’s calligraphy style before he becoming a monk.The second chapter describing the phenomena why he had his own style afterhe becoming a monk. The end chapter researching his attitude of calligraphythrough his speech, and compare him with any other monks who also writtencalligraphy. The comparison can show Master Hong Yi’s special.The view of art about Master Hong Yi is “learning first, creating second.”,because calligraphy is to rely on people.
