The film style builds upon the employment of visual and aural rhetoric. Wang Quanan is one of the leaders among the sixth generation director of China. He has directed6movies up to now. They are Eclipse(1999), Insects Awaken(2003), Tuya’s Marriage(2006), Weaving Girl(2008), Reunion(2010), White Deer Plain(2011). His movies are filled with a strong ethnic flavor which are bounded together inextricably with his rhetorical skills in movies.The characteristic of visual rhetoric in Wang’s movies is dignified smooth. Chapter one of this paper analyzes the visual rhetoric from the perspective of inside the scene, single shot and montage, such as contrast, metaphor, long shot, emphasis and so on. The rhetorical skills in his movies spark them with unique aesthetic force. The second part of the paper focus on the analysis of aural rhetoric. Wang mainly record the acoustics of back ground faithfully. It doesn’t suggest a pale feast in hearing, but remodeling the true statue of life, enlarging the space of scene in the audience. The rhetoric skills of Repeat and Imply in the music part, which combined with the visual rhetoric construct and deliver the rational meanings and the inner feelings.The function of film’s rhetoric will discuss in the third part. Two kind of function were found by research on the Wang’s movies. One is narrating and ideogram which consist of interpretation in the combination of scene and sound and image-narrating. The other hand is rhythm-control which is mainly on the shape rhythm and editing rhythm. Overall, the sound reflect an ease pace in the hearing rhythm. Visual rhetoric and aural rhetoric build up the Natural Rhetoric Body in Wang’s unique way.Social-Cultural meaning of Wang’s movies will be concluded in the last part of this paper. He rebuild the poetic existence of people and recast the regional culture of times. Obviously, He made his great success in the world out of rhetoric in the movies, so there must be some valuable experience for the creation of Chinese filmdom and there will be some kind of precious reference.
