"Three words" is the floorboard of three short stories:"Yu Shiming Yan"(alsoknown as "the ancient and modern novel"),"Jingshitongyan" and "Ahorisms toAwaken the ublic". It’s comiled by the scholars, and it’s a collection of story-tellingsand novels in Song and Yuan Dynasties. In "Three words" you can not only find theoriginal aearance of the words in Song and Yuan Dynasties,but also find the style ofthe novels writing in Ming Dynasty."Three words" reflect the track of the style changeform story-telling to scrit for story-telling vividly. Concretely seaking,one third of"Three words" was about story-tellings and novels in Song and Yuan Dynasties,andthe others was about scrit for story-telling writed by the scholars of MingDynasty.Overall,"Three words" is an major turning oint of the transformation fromstory to reading matter and it layed an demonstration role for the creating of scrit forstory-telling.The Great Canal of Ming Dynasty is rebuilt on the basis of the Canal of MingDynasty.It become the link of Beijing and Zhejiang area,because the olitical centerand the Develoed Area are highly searated.On the one hand,eole can use the watertraffic to transort the taxes from the south Yangtze river regions to Beijing.One theother hand,this commercial avenue not only romoting economic develoment ofdifferent areas, but also romoting the culture exchange of north and south.In the mid and final eriod of the Ming Dynasty, City-Economy along the Canalsuch as HangZhou,ShuZhou,YangZhou,Huaian,Linqing,Tianjin,TongZhou,etc. throvefurther.These city use the Canal as their traffic line,they achieved CommodityCirculation in more region while radially diverted to its hinterland.During that time,agricultural economy go through an further division and further cooeration, handicraftindustry as a new force suddenly rises, an unaralleled large domestic market was buildon the basis of the Canal.Esecially, because of the Cannal direct connection with theinternational trade channel,commodities circulate become faster, and romotingeconomic develoment.The dissertation mainly studies on "Three words"and the trade-business activitiesthrough Ming Canal in the mid and final eriod of the Ming Dynasty.This thesis aimsat City-Economy along the Canal and their Business strategy in "Threewords".Besides, it analyses the image of the new canal businessman,life ofbusinessman and their Business strategy. With this background,this dissertationexlores the effect of the Ming Canal on the canal hinterland and City-Economy along the Cana.It also reviewed and summarized the trade-business activities through MingCanal reflect in "Three words".Feng Menglong lives in SuZhou for a long time,he fully aware of the relationshibetween social change and the Canal while writing "Three words".racticallyseaking,there are massive stories about economic activity in the mid and final eriod ofthe Ming Dynasty,the develoment of handicraft industry and caitalist srout in "Threewords".These stories resent the local customs and culture of City-Economy along theCana such SuZhou,etc.It also recreates the culture living and formulation ofCity-Economy along the Canal in the mid and final eriod of the Ming Dynasty.Besides,it describe the economic roserity of City-Economy along the Canal.Startingfrom "Three words",We can know more about the olitical,economic, and cultural ofthe mid and final eriod of the Ming Dynasty.
