Slash is a new type of literature that introduced into Chinese continent in recent years, andspread quickly with the help of internet. Slash literature is not directly derived fromhomosexual literature or Chinese romance; it is the production of Japanese anime culture. In thelate nineteen eighties, Japanese cartoon first entered the Taiwan and Hong Kong areas and thenintroduced into Chinese continent in the early nineties. In1997the Japanese Slash fiction beganto appear in the mainland market. The Slash literature had a vigorous development andinfluenced by western "Fan Fiction" and combined with the China traditional culture after itintroduction to Chinese. The deconstruction and subversion characteristics of postmodernismare match with the Slash literature. This paper is on the basis of postmodernism theory tocarding the postmodern cultural features of Chinese Slash literature.The first part of the article is an overview of Slash literature. First, it made the definition ofSlash literature and related concepts; Secondly, the paper carded the spreading anddevelopment of Slash literature in Chinese continent. The second part of the article discussesthe Slash literature and Chinese postmodern cultural context. It summary the culturalcharacteristics of Postmodernism and discuss the unique and complex postmodern culturalcontext of China to interpretation the appearance of Slash literature’s possibility andinevitability. The third part of the article interprets the major characteristics of Postmodernismof Slash literature. First in the aesthetic aspect, the paper based on parody, intersexuality andmetafiction theory of Postmodernism to analysis the specific text; Next, the theme aspect, thewriting of incest taboo make conflict between desire and human nature. Desire carnival thatwithout restraint successful escape the dilemma between open wide and being watched, But italso manipulate by the commercialization of cultural products.
