| Toshio Hosokawa is another outstanding Japanese composers after Toru Takemitsu. He merged the traditional Japanese music element to the Western contemporary composition skill, which makes music is acceptable worldwide more easily. Therefore, the culture and art can be better spread, merged and inherited."WOVEN DREAMS" is a classic orchestral artwork, which was awarded the prize of British composer on DEC2013. Toshio Hosokawa presents his producing style as a composer at his maturity by means of unique music language and impersonated way of instrumental combination. Hence, the propose of my dissertation is to dissect, summarize and research the technical characteristics of orchestra through " WOVEN DREAMS "The full text is divided into two parts. The first part is a summarization about the composer’s life, different periods of his music composition, and the characteristics of "WOVEN DREAMS". The second part is a textual point, which mainly analyzes the instrumentation and resources of acoustics, the characteristics of timbre-acoustics-compounding under the principle of "tone-color separation" and its effect in vertical structure, the characteristics of timbre-acoustics-continuation with the function of "tone-color melody" in horizontal structure, and overall acoustical arrangement. |
