| Since the1990s, love comedy of mainland China has become one of the most popular types of film with a growing importance. Thanks to the flourishing of film market in recent years, love comedy enjoys an excellent box office performance and is increasingly drawing the attention of the society.This paper attempts to make a comprehensive and systematic study on the love comedy of mainland China since the1990s. The first chapter introduces the two phases in the development history of love comedy in mainland China and makes an analysis on the factors affecting its development as well as the characteristics in its creation process. The second chapter studies the thematic changes of love comedy with the passage of time by analyzing specific texts. The third chapter reveals the fixed cognition on the status of men and women embodied in Chinese culture through an character analysis of the love comedy in mainland China. The fourth chapter makes a comprehensive review of its development from the perspectives of aesthetic value, commercial value and critical review. Based on the theories of movie ontology, culturology, sociology, feminism and reception aesthetics, this paper makes a systematic and profound research of mainland China love comedy since the1990s so as to provide some reference for further development of love comedy in China. |
