On Dao (《论道》) is a metaphysical writing of Jin Yuelin. He wrote it in a logical way in order to contact Dao, which is an important concept, with "Neng"(能) and "Shi"(式).The thought of Jin is unique on that time. There are three fundamental concepts-"Neng","Shi" and "Ke neng"(可能). In Jin, Neng is active and positive, however, Shi is passive and negative. There are only possible things if Neng and Shi are separated. Neng can be combined with Shi because of the movement of it. During the movement of Neng, the whole world is changing constantly with the appearance of Universal, Specific, Individual and Time and Space. Neng is the motivation and reason of the real world. Dependent on the movement of Neng, the real world is changing all the time.As is known to all, many thinkers are exploring the motivation of the changing of our world. Scientism and willpower are regarded as the final reasons. Definitely, they have positive impact on the revolution of that time. However, the real reasons are not founded. Compare with them, Jin found Neng as the motivation of the changing world, which is right in the end.
