Cang Lang Shi Hua is one of the most important poetic theory works in the history of Chinese literary criticism. But at present academic researchers have paid more attention to the influence of Yan Yu’s poetics, which ignored its produce process to some degrees. Based on this, my paper will avoid putting focus on Yan Yu’s poetics as much as possible and try my best to display the real environment of Yan Yu’s poetics’ information, in order to present a dynamic process of development and maturity of Yan Yu’s poetics and its popularity. In the first chapter, the reason of his giving up the imperial examination, his experience of travelling around and his choice of being an unoccupied people will be analyzed, which is convenient for readers to know Yan Yu’s life experience and his personality characteristics. Then we can understand his poetics better. The second chapter will focus on Yan Yu’s inheritance of Lu Jiuyuan’s method of thinking. Yan Yu had learned much from Lu Jiuyuan’s philosophy, such as the emphasis on RU MEN XU ZHENG(入门须正),the relationship between FA MING BEN XIN(发明本心)and MIAO WU(妙悟),the purpose of GE WU ZHI ZHI(格物致知).All of these will have an important impact on the establishment of the system of Yan Yu’s poetics. Although they had many common points in the method of thinking, they also had many different points of view in specific poetics, especially in the attitude towards Jiang Xi poetry club. So I will also compare Yan Yu’s specific poetics with Lu Jiuyuan’s roughly. We can not exaggerate the influence of Lu Jiutyuan to Yan Yu.The mutual exchanges between Friends also played an important role in the establishment of the system of Yan Yu’s poetics. So the third chapter will focus on the activities of Yan Yu and other poets in Shao Wu(邵武). First I will use some documents to prove Shao Wu poetry club’s existence. Then I will compare Yan Yu’s poetics with other poetry club member’s by a group of poetry named LUN SHI SHI JUE (《论诗十绝》) written by Dai Fugu. Finally I will also compare Yan Yu’s poetics with his uncle named Wu Ling by the letter wrote to him at that time. In a word, Yan Yu’s poetics has matured gradually by exchanging views between his friends and his poetics also spread regionally in Shao Wu. Yan Yu’s poetics value got attention by participating in Shao Wu poets’ activities in this period.Unfortunately Yan Yu’s poetics had not been accepted by most people at that time. His poetic theory had been popular for later generation’s propaganda efforts of Fu Jian. The fourth chapter will describe the efforts of Fu Jian people in Song Yuan and Ming dynasty had made, by which Yan Yu’s poetics had been predominate in Ming and Qing dynasty, even in today. We can see that the propaganda efforts of Fu Jian people had made can be regard as intentional through the procedure. In a word, I hope that I can give readers some fresh impression on development and maturity of Yan Yu’s poetic conception and its popularity instead of the superficial understanding by this paper.
