Research On The Performance Of Heroic Images In Chinese Heroes Biographical Films

With the contemporary spiritual models as the protagonists, Chinese heroesbiographical film is one of the most representative film types in China, and plays animportant role in promoting the social justice, inspiring the human spirit and purifingthe human mind. As core elements of Chinese heroes biographical film, the creationof heroic images is crucial, especially the actors’ performance affects the success orfailure of creation directly. Because of character archetypes and ideology, theperformance of heroic images is always finished in specified limits and has formedself features. Meanwhile, with the going deep in understanding of performance andthe transition of social context, the performance of heroic images has made constantprogress, not only aim to the artistic charm of artistic reality and living reality, butalso have good social and economic benefits.In the introduction, this paper completes the establishment of the theoriesralated to performance, and then starts analysis from four aspects. Firstly, outlinesthe origin and development of performance in Chinese heroes biographical film, andpoints out that actors have different aesthetic tendencies at various times in history.Secondly, Based on the created characters, this paper analyzes the features of actors’performance in pursuit of the unity of form and spirit, and the creation of idealizedheroes who have vivid personalities. Thirdly, three actors are chosen and each ofthem has created charactors of the same identity in Chinese heroes biographical filmsand other movies. Through comparing their own performance in different types ofmovies, this paper analyzes the performance of heroic images further and thenconcludes the requirments of past success from three angles, which are the level ofperformance, the style of performance and the control of emotion. Finally, this paperindicates the performance trend of heroic images in future, and discusses the actors’attempt in strengthening documentary feature and various performing styles atpresent during popularization of mass culture and industrialization of the Chinesefilm, and hopes actors could take lessons to creat more real and typical heroic imagesthat promote to realize the biggest value of Chinese heroes biographical film.
