| With the growing development in the field of Chinese petroleum overseasbusiness, China has been promoting foreign trade after its accession to the WTO, soforeign bidding projects keep increasing in the process of international negotiationand construction with more highlighted role of interpreting. The paper is written inview of overseas crude oil transmission pipeline engineering auction. This is aproject taken by Daqing Oilfield Engineering Construction Co.ltd of winning the bid,entrusted by CNOOC Iraq branch (hereinafter referred to as “client”), interpreted byme. The report is about Missan oilfield crude oil53kilometers’ transmission pipelineand relative speech of the auction. By understanding the terminology and the auctionprocess, the author carries out detailed analysis on the opening ceremony and speechof the auction, summarizes six auction interpretation strategies including theinterpretation of terminology and long difficult sentences, company names andnumbers, usage of “shall” and passive sentence pattern in combination withinterpretative theory and Skopos theory; Apart from that, the author also puts forwardthe solutions of the problems,improves interpreters’ occupational qualities andpromotes professional development of theirs in related field. The author completeddata and knowledge accumulation through many forms, such as: the literatureinvestigation, questionnaire, E-mail, telephone interviews, field research and the aidof experts, teachers and classmates.The author take Missan oilfield crude oil53kilometers’ transmission pipelineauction as a case, analyzing the characteristics of bidding auction.The interpretationpractice provides referent directions for the future development of author’s career,some references for MTI, valuable information for interpreters, ideas for futureinterpretation textbook compilers.
