Simultaneous interpretation is special activity of language handling. In other words, simultaneous interpretation is that the interpreter uses one language(target language) to express the meaning of the other language(source language). It is an oral interpretation expression by the same pace of the speaker’s source language. The simultaneous interpretation is a job needing the interpreter with all-round abilities and the improvement of the interpreter’s ability is mainly on the continual practice and plentiful experience. This report, combining the theory with the examples, will give some suggestions to the simultaneous interpreters.The author was invited to attend the5th China-US International Symposium in May2013on Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine and had the honor to be the interpreter of the speech named Fetal Skeletal Dysplasia. The lecturer of this speech is the professor Michelle Silasi, who is a great expert on gynecology from Yale University. This report took the simultaneous interpretation of Professor Michelle’s speech for example, analyzed and summarized in four parts including the description of the interpretation task, the interpretation process, case analysis, and the interpretation summarization. The author made a brief introduction on this task in the first part and divided the second part into three sections, which are the preparation before the interpretation, simultaneous interpretation stage and summarizing after the SI. The work completed in every stage was given a detailed introduction, and the solutions to the problems met in the simultaneous interpretation were also given. In the third part cases analysis, the author analyzed the examples from the interpretation and discussed the skills and principles with more other examples. In the last part-summary of the report, the author gave the new interpreters some suggestions on improving the basic training of language as well as expanding the encyclopedic knowledge, which can instruct the interpreters how to study and excise.
