The Study On TV Serials On The Theme Of Historical Migration From The Perspective Of Communication

TV series, as a cultural product of mass consumptions, has gradually beenfamiliar to us since1950s. By the end of the20th century, TV series had become themain cultural product for Chinese people with its abundant forms, vivid audio-visualcontents and extensive coverages. In the new era, Chinese TV series have anincreasingly flexible and various choice on themes and artistic expressions withworks in a wide variety of styles springing up, which provides more chances forpublic appreciation. Among the outstanding TV series includes particularly those onthe themes of historical migration such as ethnic group migration, regional migrationgrowth and group migration space. A number of TV series on this theme like “GoingNortheast”,“Going West” and “Going Southeast” screened one by one and received apowerful wave of ratings. Recently, the TV series on the theme of historical migrationhas attracted the attention of some scholars, but they mainly conduct a case studyfrom the perspectives of history, movie and Aesthetics, and rare people view TVseries on migration as a creation type with further summing up and sorting out.This thesis studies from the angle of communications and regards TV serieson the theme of historical migration as research object. Macro analysis ofcommunicational contexts is combined with micro close reading of the texts in orderto grasp the cultural value and historical meaning,together with audiences and contactmotivation. Furthermore, this thesis explores the communicational effect and creationimplication of the TV series on the theme of historical migration.The thesis is made up of six chapters:Chapter1discusses research reason, research status, research methodology,research aim and research significance of the TV series on the theme of historicalmigration.Chapter2defines the terms of TV series on the theme of Chinese migrationand historical migration and sorts the development path of migrational TV series.Chapter3analyzes the economic, political and cultural contexts that promotethe production and communication of TV serials on the theme of historical migration from the macroscopic point of view.Chapter4interprets the image presentation, music language, narrative styleand theme connotation of TV serials on historical migration in terms of microscopiccontent of communication.Chapter5explains the constitute, contact motivation and three differentpositions of the audiences of TV serials on the theme of historical migration.Chapter6mainly explores the communicational effect on TV serials on thetheme of historical migration and attempts to explain the migrational phenomenonand the relevant problems spiritually, economically and socially.
