In order to further improve quality education and cultivate the high-quality art teacherscapable of the elementary art education with humanistic spirit and innovation ability, theeducation of the art teachers in nomal universty is reformed gradually by close connectionwith art "new curriculum standard" of the primary and middle schools.Our normal artteachers education has been given more attention to the art skills than humanity education.The importance of it has in a long term or totally been ingnored especially for the courses ofthe art history which are mostly prepared for skills training and lack of humanity education.With the louder voice of strengthening the humanities education, the defects anddisadvantages of this mode of education gradually emerge. At present, many educationexperts and normal education teachers and managers are more caring about interdisciplinaryhumanities education in each subject education. They are exploring the developent mode anddirection of humanity education reform of normal art history courses from several aspects ofteachers’training and humanity,etc.In this paper, the author comments and suggests thesituation not only for the unreasonable arrgangement of the art history courses, as the basiccourses with humanity value, designed by normal colleges but also the teaching method lagwithout following the deeply reformation development of elementary education. Art historycourse has been "marginalized" in a long time. For example, the teaching methods are notvaried and boring, less class hours, the teaching content always concentrates on the courseitself as well as the textbooks almost without any combination with the other art courses. Thekind of such teaching method is not good for students to improve their researching ability andpartly lost the art history course value, as the humanity subject, of professional quality andfull development of the students. In2012, the Ministry of Education re-authorized theprimary and middle school art textbooks, and increase the propotion of art-history relatedculture information both from the theory and practice, which has shown more emphasis onthe strenthening of culture and spirit training. Thus the teachers’eduction in normal collegesneed to follow and even ahead of it. This article means to expound the inadaption between theart history knowledge in the PEP art text books and the art history teaching situation in nomalcolledges, and put forward to the ways to improve the art history teaching in nomal colledgs.The author hope her suggestion can make up for the the exsisting related study and promptthe nomal colledgs to cultivate effectively those art teachers who will play important roles inthe art education in primary and middle school and always adapt to the requirment of thesocial and eduction reformation.
