Wenzhao is a famous poet who was born in the royalty of Qing dynasty. He livedduring the Kangxi’s and Yongzheng’s domination. He, together with Yueduan(MasterHonglan), Boerdu(General Wenting) and Saierhe(General Xiaoting), is the outstandingrepresentative among the royal poets of Qing dynasty. Because of the noble status, he hadreceived a good education since his young age. When he grew up, he found a famous andlearned teacher whose name’s Wang Shizhen, and he began to learn how to write poemsfrom Mr. Wang. Since then, he had made a great progress in this field, even the emperorKangxi had ever spoken highly of him. When he was18years old, he took part in theimperial examination but failed in the end because he did not obey the rules. When theexamination was over, he was punished to live in the country-side and became adisengaged royalty. After that, he began to concentrate on writing poems, and made manyfriends who were famous poets such as Jiang Chenying, Zha Shenxing and Wang Shidan,etc. They had a great influence on him. Wenzhao had written more than2,400poems allhis life, and edited them together as a book named Zizhuangxuan Poetry which consistedof32parts. Some of them were a reflect of his daily life in the village, some were tomourn his relatives and friends who were dead, and so on. Some of them were fresh andnatural, some of them were very sad, and some of them showed a picture of the lifestyleof the young men who were from the Manchuria.This thesis primarily summed up the relevant literature such as the poetry,comments of poems, and then analyze the artistic characteristics of his poetry andthought, try to demonstrate his writing style, achievement and influence in this field asobjectively and comprehensively as possible. This thesis consists of five chapters: thefirst chapter introduced the background of his family and his life experiences; the secondchapter introduced the main content of his poetry by classify his poems into differentthemes; the third chapter discussed the artic features of his poems by analyze somerepresentative examples; the fourth chapter demonstrated the poetic origin and histhought on poems; and the fifth chapter summarized his achievements and influences.
