“What to teach, how to teach and how to learn well?” have received mostattentions in the world of TCSOL, while how to teach and how to learn well are themost important questions among scholars. A scientific method to solve these questionscan make students master the Chinese knowledge more efficiently and learn how to useChinese to communicate in daily life. It can also lead the students to explore Chineseknowledge so as to build their own language system which is the solid basis of languageand culture learning. In the primary stage of Chinese learning, comprehensive course isthe basis and the core, leading learners into the learning of systematic Chineseknowledge. The process and the effect of the comprehensive course directly influencethe development and the realization of the goal of other single language skills, such aslistening, speaking, reading and writing. And they also play a great part in coordinatingthe teachings of other lessons. This thesis focuses on the brand new method of“Learning Guide” which tries to convert the teaching method of “teacher-centered” to“student-centered” in the primary stage of teaching comprehensive course in TCSOL. Inthis way, the learners will develop a habit of finding knowledge in the initial stage ofstudying. The method of “Learning Guide” aims at exercising teacher’s instructionfunction in the process of student’s self-learning, developing the abilities of student’sself-learning and positively promoting the construction of the system of cognitive theory,the construction theory and theory of personality development in student’s learningprocess.
