Since the novel "Decrypt" was published,Maijia have continuouslypublished several novels. Because of the Specificity of the works’ theme, theuniqueness of creation technique, the rigor of logic and adding some aesthetic elementsto his novels, such as code, suspense, intelligence, hero, tragedy, his novels are alsocalled "Spy novel", which make him edge into the literary world. In fact, he is reallyknown to the public for his full-length novel “Plot”, adapted for hot film and televisionplay by Liuyunlong. With the help of the TV “Plot”, Maijia won the Fifth Mao DunPrize for Literature. In this sense, Maijia is a representative of connecting literature andfilm and television successfully. Under the background of mass culture’s flourish andmarket economy’s rapid development, the cooperation of literature and film andtelevision has achieved win-win, and many excellent novels and writers have come intothe horizon of the public by the spread of film and television. For one thing, it is due tothe fast-paced society that the public’s aesthetic habits changed. For another thing, thefilm and television can stimulate the optic nerve of the public by much and satisfy thepublic’s the expectations of vision and peep desire.Starting from the mass cultural points of view and combining with the creationcharacteristics of Maijia’s novels, this paper gives a aesthetics research of Maijia’s spydrama.The paper is divided into four parts except introduction and conclusion.Combining with the present background, The introduction gives a clear thought on thecurrent situation of translation and study of Maijia’s works and think that it is necessaryto do aesthetic study on Maijia’s spy drama. Chapter one introduces the development ofChina’s spy drama and the source of Maijia’s spy works and probes into the influence ofhis study, life and work on Maijia’s creation of spy war. Chapter two analyzes Maijia’sthe film and television’s creation form and discusses the relationship between the noveland the film and television. From Maijia’s spy drama, chapter three discusses its’ unique aesthetic characteristics, such as mysterious code, simulation and gray tone and so on.The fourth chapter analyzes the innovation of his spy novels’ subject and content, aswell as combines the inner theme of his spy drama with external form of mass culture,and distinguishes it from other films of the same class. Conclusion part summarizes theaesthetic value and modern significance of the study on Maijia’s spy drama.
