The Cultural Signiifcance And Educational Value In Duan Festival

Duan festival is one of the core parts of the Shui culture, and The educational value andcultural significance of Duan Festival are the research objects of this study. In order toreveal the educational value and cultural significance, the relative literatures, therelative literatures, the source, process, transition and traits of the festival, therelationship between those two objects were investigated. Identify the meaning of value,educational value and their classification in the view of Marxism.Use the ZhenJinzhou’s method to realize the two objects and their relationship. Then use theMaterialist dialectics to analyze the relations hip between the two parts of Duan festival.Therefore, research the methods of “harmony between humans and nature” and“Interpersonal harmony” in Duan, which reflect Shui people’s the simple materialism.Besides, the Shui’s educational situation in San Du Shui autonomous county wasanalyzed. Shui’s culture impact the development of Shui’s education. At the same time,the inheritance of the Shui’s culture should be supported by the Shui’s education. Wefound that some schools in this area are begin to explore special educational way, suchas put some ethic elements into the variety of curriculums and scholastic atmosphere,etc. However, the contradiction between the local education and Duan culture stick out amile. Because there is no effective educational system to embrace the Duan culture, andthe traditional heritance could not satisfy the demand of modern development ofeducation. Finally, we found that the educational value of the whole process of Duan isprofound: except a sense of national pride and moral educational value, respect thenatural rules, keep the unity, abided by their promises with ancestors were based on theharmonious educational value of Duan festival. Those above reflect Duan festival’sharmonious educational value.
