Research On The Relationship Among Perceived Social Support, Life Satisfaction And Mental Health Of The "9+3" Vocational Education Students In Sichuan Tibetan Area

In order to understand the mental health status and its influencing mechanism ofthe “9+3” free vocational education students in Sichuan Tibetan area,1000“9+3” studentsfrom18different schools of Chengdu, Luzhou and so on, were measured by “MentalHealth Test(MHT)”,” Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)”and “Life Satisfaction Scalesof Children and Adolescents” and973valid questionnaires. In this article, we analysis andunderstand the three aspects of “9+3” students: mental health, perceived social support andlife satisfaction, and to explore the predictive role of perceived social support and lifesatisfaction toward the mental health. On basis of research one, we also analyze the threeaspects of general high school students. There are450general high school students whocome from9different general high schools of Chengdu, Luzhou and so on, and435validquestionnaires.Results:(1) In general, the mental health status of “9+3” students is better than we expect, andthe boy’s mental health status is better than the girls’.(2) Whether the “9+3” students or the general high school students, the main problemthey faced is learning anxiety. But compared with the general high school students,the “9+3” students have more learning anxiety, loneliness and fear.(3) Perceived social support and life satisfaction of the “9+3” students are both at ahigh level, and they experience a lot of family supports.(4) The general high school students’ mental health are negatively correlated withperceived social support and life satisfaction, but the “9+3” students’ learninganxiety are positively correlated with perceived social support and life satisfaction. (5) Perceived social support could affect the mental health directly, or by means ofaffecting life satisfaction. Life satisfaction is partial mediating variable inperceived social support affecting mental health.
