Compared with general formats, the "only rhetorical formats" are of important position in learners’ acquisition of rhetorical question. This article pay attention to learners’ acquisition of those "only rhetorical formats" in order to test leaners’ learning conditions and characteristics; to enrich correlation theories on this field, including the classification of the items and the distribution of the pragmatic functions; to provide suggestions for the teaching practice in terms of material and teaching.The questionnaire survey has been done among learners, and the article applied qualitative and quantitative methods to elaborate their acquisition of "only rhetorical formats" from the view of universals and personality.The article confirmed the "only rhetorical formats" and classed them into12. categories,31subclasses after integrating the previous research results, and concluded the corresponding relation between the formats and pragmatic function. The research investigated the general patterns and special phenomenon happened on learners, and tried to explain them.At last, given the survey results, recommendations are presented for outline, material and teaching.
