Affective Forecasting is almost a necessary lesson in our life.We often predict emotionalreaction For Future events, judge their positivity or the negativity and their positive and negativeintensity, in order to motivate our efforts in the direction of the happiness, or to avoid pains.Emotional prediction, however, often occur bias.We cannot do very accurate prediction of theintensity and duration of emotion.Construal level theory is that Trope and Liberman in1998put Forward a theory of purecognitive orientation. Its simple and summary angle provides ideas For many Fields. The coreidea is that the mental representation of objects is hierarchical in nature.DiFFerent abstractdegrees are constructed levels, and construct level depends on psychological distance thatpeople perceive objects, which aFFects people’s Forecasts, evaluation and so on. psychologicaldistance contains time, distance, spatial distance, social distance and probability. This article is established on three main papers that Mitchell et al.(2010) and Trope et al.(2002) authenticated aFFective Forecast will be more positive in the distant Future and thatpollmann and Finkenauer (2009)’s study showed that strangers emotional intensity deviation isgreater than predicting Friends’ Forecast. This study tests the impact of psychological distanceand construal level on emotional prediction. This article extends the temporal distance to thepsychological distance.More important, From the perspective of cognitive construal level, thisresearch analyzes the impact of cognitive Factors on emotional prediction intensity. Study1investigates the impact of psychological distance on the emotional Forecasting intensity. It hasthree experiments that are respectively From temporal, spatial and social distances to exploretheir eFFects on the emotional Forecasting intensity. Study2investigates the impact ofconstrual on the emotional predicting intensity.Through the research, there are mainly the Following conclusions:(1) When the event is Far psychological distance, emotional prediction will be higherintensity than close psychological distance. Experiment1shows in the positive events group, the intensity of emotion predicted in Far distance is signiFicantly greater than close timedistance; Experiment2shows that predicted emotional strength in Far social distance will begreater than close social distance experiment3shows in the positive events group, emotionalForecasts intensity in Far spatial distance is greater than the near distance. (2) when primed a high construal level, the participants will be higher intensity onemotional Forecasts than low construal level.
