The Effect Of Psychological Distance On Evaluation Of Moral Behavior

The moral behavior judgment refers to people judge the moral behavior of themselves or others according to the moral standard.Psychological distance is an important factor that affects the judgment of moral behavior.The psychological distance theory holds that the increase of psychological distance for unethical behavior will make the individual think that the immoral behavior is more extreme,and the moral behavior is more ethical.At present,the study on the influence of psychological distance on moral behavior judgment has not been conclusively concluded.It mainly shows that the influence of psychological distance on moral behavior judgment is different for different moral behaviors.This may be due to the moral degree of moral behavior caused by different.Therefore,it is necessary to discuss the influence of psychological distance on the low level moral behavior and the high level moral behavior judgment in the process of discussing the psychological distance and morality of moral behavior.In this study,there are three processes.First,the preparation of low degree of moral events and high degree of moral events,it will provide experimental materials for the follow-up research to.Second,explore the effect of psychological distance of on low level moral behavior form two dimensions of psychological temporal distance and social distance.Third,explore the effect of psychological distance of on low high moral behavior form two dimensions of psychological temporal distance and social distance.The results prove that:1.The moral events of high degree and moral events of low degree prepared in this study are in accordance with the statistical requirements.Then can be used to study the influence of psychological distance on moral judgments of moral events of different degrees.2.For the moral events of low degree,the main effect of temporal distance is significant,the main effect of social distance is significant.The simple effect of temporal distance is not significant in the level of closer social distance,and significant in the level of remote social level.The simple effect of social distance is significant at two levels of temporal distance.3.For moral events of low degree,the main effect of temporal distance is significant,the main effect of social distance is significant.The simple effect of temporal distance is not significant in the level of closer social distance,and marginal significant in the level of remote social level.The simple effect of social distance is significant in the level of closer temporal distance,and not significant in the level of remoter temporal distance.
