| As an indispensible part of literature on interpreting studies, citation serves theircontent as critical support and plays an essential role in evolution of academicdisciplines. And the linguistic journals have been a main concentration of the studyresults on interpreting in China. Therefore, a discussion on citation from these journalarticles is significant to identify the status quo of the domestic interpreting studies.Employing citation analysis, this thesis conducts an intensive study on the citation in188articles published on eight linguistic core journals from2003to2012. Fouraspects are investigated including numbers of citations in each language, the mostfavored cited text forms, the popular Chinese and Western authors, and the frequentlycited domestic and Western literature. The thesis finds out the characteristics ofcitation in the domestic articles on interpreting studies, analyzes the possible reasonsof the existing problems in the domestic interpreting studies and calls for attachingmore importance to its development. |
