This is an English-Chinese translation report.The source text is an academic paper “Citation patterns in translation studies: a format-dependent bibliometric analysis” which is written by three Hispanic authors: Sara Rovira-Esteva,Javier Franco Aixelá and Christian Olalla-Soler.The source text has defined a specialized and optimal citation window to be used in translation study through the bibliometric method.The aim of this translation report is to learn citation studies in translation studies,to draw lessons from excellent bibliometrics and to broaden academic horizons.This report mainly covers four chapters.The introduction contains the information about the source text and its authors,the background and significance of the translation project.The chapter 2 introduces the theoretical guidance used in translation,that is,Eugene A.Nida’s functional equivalence theory proposed in 1986 and formal equivalence theory proposed in 1964.At the same time,Chapter 2 also introduces the preparation before translation.The Chapter 3 discusses difficulties in translation and exemplifies how to solve them under the guidance of translation theories.In Chapter 4,the author of the report summarizes the acquirement and unsolved problems in the process.It is hoped that the final version will help trainees and researchers of translation studies in China know the calculation of a normalized citation impact of translation studies academic literature in terms of different document types and understand the general distribution of citations in translation studies.
