| Through analyzing the process of listening analysis of consecutive interpreting, this thesis aims to find out factors that hinder effective listening analysis, and come upwith feasible solutions to solve the problems so as to raise the quality of the wholeinterpreting. The thesis analyzes the factors from four aspects, which are ineffectivenote-taking and long segments at discourse level, long and complex sentences, newwords and expressions, and insufficient extra-linguistic knowledge. Gile’s EffortModel of consecutive interpreting and the Paris Interpretative Theory are resorted to asthe theory basis. It is held in the thesis that inappropriate comprehension is the mainreason why listening analysis is interrupted. Ineffective note-taking and long segmentsaffect listening analysis in that they break the balance of the processing capacityallocation, while the latter three factors are analyzed from the perspective of the ParisInterpretative Theory as to how they affect comprehension of the sense. Examples aregiven as support. Targeting at these factors, the thesis raises some feasible solutionsfrom the aspects of proper allocation of processing capacity, and better comprehensionof the sense, for example, appropriate note-taking and anticipation, employing andenlarging extralinguistic knowledge, etc. Examples are also given as support. |
