Procrastination is interpreted as a neutral term firstly, when people are expectedthat the procrastination can cause very bad consequences and will not help trying tostall an already previously planned task or activity behavior. This itself is a kind ofretreat performance. Then the deduction to learn this behavior has become the field ofacademic procrastination. Nowadays academic procrastination is already a relativelycommon phenomenon, but also access to a large of researchers. However previousresearch on learning to read procrastination, and most of them are descriptive study,the lack of research on the causal relationship.In this paper, university students for the study, analysis of current situation fromstart academic procrastination, and detailed analysis of the behavioralinhibition/activation system and a sense of general self-efficacy on procrastinationand provide some theoretical and practical learning and teaching university studentson reference. This study used a random sampling method, and selected286subjectseffectively in Tangshan college and Hebei Polytechnic University, using AcademicProcrastination Scale(PASS),General Self-Efficacy(GSES) and BehaviorInhibition/Activation system and the main conclusions are follows:(1)The phenomenon of academic procrastination is prevalent among the academicstudents’population.(2) There are statistically significant differences of academic procrastination ongender, specialty, education background. In terms of gender, boys more severely thangirls academic procrastination; in a professional respect, science and engineeringmajors comparison, academic procrastination behavior occurs less liberal arts majors,engineering majors academic procrastination professional than science procrastinationbehavior occurs less college, science majors study the most serious procrastination.(3)There is statistically significant differences of the general self-efficacy of collegestudents on gender, there is not statistically significant differences of the generalself-efficacy of college students on specialty, education background. On the whole,the general self-efficacy of college students is above the average level. (4)There are not statistically significant differences of Behavioral inhibition systemand behavioral activation system on gender, specialty, education background. On thewhole,behavioral inhibition system and behavioral activation system of collegestudents is under the average level.(5)There is significantly negative correlation between the general self-efficacy andacademic procrastination.(6)Academic procrastination is significant positive correlated with BIS/BAS,and thebehavioral activation system could positively predict academic procrastinationobviously.(7) The general self-efficacy plays an partial intermediary role in the influence aroseby behavioral inhibition/activation to academic procrastination.
