In order to study the favorite content of mental health education for secondarystudents and the way and the teaching staff of mental health education the secondarystudents willing to accept,to improve the pertinence,effectiveness and popularity ofmental health education activities in middle school students,the author research5middle school including the affiliated high school of JiangXi normal university,No.1railway middle school of NanChang, No.20middle school of NanChang,No.1middle school of WanLi and No.1vocational middle school of NanChang,820students in total,by the structured “questionnaire of mental health education demandfor middle school students”.The questionnaire is a revision and supplement of Dr.Luo Chunming’s "China adolescent mental health services needsquestionnaire"(AMHSNQ) who from Southwestern University based on literatureby author.The questionnaire is divided into two parts.The first part is “The contentand attitude demand questionnaire of mental health education for middle schoolstudents”.The second part is “The form demand questionnaire of mental healtheducation for middle school students”.The results are shown as following.(1)78.8%students more need or really needmental health education.(2)Most need to mental health education for middle schoolstudents is learning guidance,followed by the intelligence training,the guidanceabout entering a higher school and employment,emotional intelligencetutoring,self-awareness guidance,attitude and adolescent sexual psychologicaleducation.(3)There is a significant difference on the content and attitude demand ofmental health education among the middle school students from differentcategories.(4)When the students suffer from mental confusion or trouble,they usuallyturn to classmates or friends for help firstly.The most popular way of mental healtheducation for students is the psychological diathesis developing.The most popularmethod of mental health education for students is experiential teaching(such asgames,role playing,psychological drama,etc.).Overall,students like rich and variousform of mental health education.Based on the result analysis of the study,the author puts forward thecountermeasures followed.(1) Attaches great importance to the school mental healtheducation,and employ professional psychology teachers.(2) Set up peer counseling system, play the advantages of peer tutoring.(3) According to students’ needs, carryout mental health education which emphasis on the study guidance.(4) Give priorityto the experiential teaching and activity curriculum,and enrich the teaching forms ofschool mental health education.(5)Highlight psychological sex differences,and try togender education separately.
