In recent years, the research of enemy-occupied area economy of North Chinahas become the focus of historiography. However, there are improvements that shouldbe made about the economic research of “Hebei Beijing Tianjin area” during theJapanese occupation. This thesis will focus on “Hebei Beijing Tianjin area”, trying tocarry out research on the control and plunder of mining industry of “Hebei BeijingTianjin area” by Japanese by means of quantitative analysis. What is more, this thesiswill discuss its impact and draw more reliable data. The study of this problem helps usto understand more clearly the operating management and plunder of mining industryof “Hebei Beijing Tianjin area” by Japanese.“Hebei Beijing Tianjin area” is rich in mineral. Hence,the Japanese had a thirstfor it in a long time. Before the July7Incident of1937,under the “Sino JapaneseEconomic Cooperation Policy”, the South Manchuria Railway Company(abbreviation: SMR) and its branch—Xingzhong Company continually erode themining industry of “Hebei Beijing Tianjin area”. After the July7Incident of1937,the North China Development Corporation take over Xingzhong Company’s work tocontrol and plunder the mining industry of “Hebei Beijing Tianjin area”. Japanesezaibatsu forces also intensified scramble for mineral resources. Coal and iron areindispensable materials for modern industry, therefore, the Japanese attaches greatimportance to plunder and control the coal and iron in order to meet the demand ofJapanese industry and aggressive wars against foreign countries. Japanese crazymineral resource plunder brought irreparable damage to the mining industry of “HebeiBeijing Tianjin area”, resulting in abnormal development of the mining industry whilefar-reaching impact on its future development.
