Painting and literature are two different kinds of art, which has not justdeveloped in their own areas, but also constantly from each other and influence eachother on the technique of creating. Painting has been exerted a measure of influenceover literature, especially in rhetoric. Many writers, ancient and modern, Chinese andforeign, are good at painting. These writers always apply sentence and rhetoric whichhas combination of painting style. These factors make their works have a unique senseof beauty. The development of publishing, language, etc. has been affected by imagevideo media, internet, advertisement, etc. in the modern society which was rapidlyentered the era of visual culture. Rhetoric is a subject with a history of thousands ofyears. The subject needs to inherit traditional research, and need to develop newresearch fields at the same time. The language visual rhetoric is a new theory whichis particularly important to dig deeper into this new subject.This article selects four typical writers who good at both literature and painting,take their prose as the key object of study, including: Feng Zikai, Feng Jicai, JiaPingwa and Mu Xin. This article combined with language visual theory, selectedtypical paragraphs from the prose to explain the rhetoric phenomenon. Using thecomparison method union concrete rhetoric phenomenon, from aspects and so onChinese character, words and expressions, discourse, figure of speech and the overalleffect to explore various aspects such as rhetorical phenomenon, discuss the rhetoricaltechniques of prose for the reference of painting techniques.This article adopts a new perspective to explore the rhetorical question and thevisual effects of language, also deepened the thesis about the research of theinteraction between literature and painting. At the same time, this article provides anew angle for the research of prose creation such like Feng Zikai, Feng Jicai, JiaPingwa and Mu Xin.This article attempted to explore the problems in the area of language visualrhetoric and extend the art of prose to a broader space. For language visual rhetoricapplied research in the prose, expand the researching field of rhetoric, andtransmission theory to photography, film and television, advertising, construction,performance and other research field. The language vision rhetoric research is helpfulto the artistic exploration of prose, also is help in analysis many practical problems in rhetoric.
