| The set of twelve etudes is a masterpiece of late Debussy, and ithas an important position in the history of piano music. Thesepieces have owned perfect fusion of technique and art. Debussy’setudes create a new hearing aesthetics, and they are also the besttextbooks for players to learn how to master various timbres. Inthis article, the author researches and analyzes the creativefeatures and performing techniques of Debussy’s Twelve Etudes.This article is divided into three chapters: the first chapterintroduces the three creative stages, musical style of Debussy andthe background, introductions, responses, historical status of hisetudes; the second chapter analyzes the creative characteristics,such as improvisation of the rhythm, fragmentation of the melody,intrinsic logic, pentatonic scales and other Arab innovative useof vague musical structure; the third chapter is divided into twoparts, and the first part explores the performing techniques ofTwelve Etudes from pedal, fingering, and touch. In addition, thesecond part presents the No.9as an example, and provides somefeasible recommendations. The main purpose of this article is toprovide practical values for the performers to have deeperunderstanding and interpretation of the Debussy Etudes. |
