The author picks up the patent literature as a translation text to take translation practicefrom Chinese to Japanese. Patent literature was chosen target practice because the author hadthe honor to come into contact with the work of patent translation. As well as the workprogresses, the author gradually discovered the importance of patent literature translation。Translation is a bridge between the economic and cultural development of all countries. Withthe development of world economy, patents gradually received attention as an important partof intellectual property. Patent translation exchanges between different countries havegradually flourished up. Chinese patent translation market started late, the shortage of talentand experience is still severity, especially for patent translation activities between China andJapan. So the author hopes that through this practice, she can summarize patent translationexperience, seek appropriate countermeasures and solutions for translation problems arisingin practice, provide a reference for newcomers, promote the improvement of patent translationmarket, and contribute to a force for the development of the knowledge economy.In the first chapter of this practice report, the author takes a brief introduction of thetranslation text, and analyzes the nature, characteristics and translation requirements of thetranslation text. The author commissioned by the yinghuaboyi company, conducted a total of382work practices of patent documents in this practice of translation. Main task is totranslation name, summary, sovereignty of the Chinese patent into Japanese. Patentdocuments have rigorous language and formal specification. So the translation must beaccurate, clear, concise, and loyal to the original version.The process of translation are described in detail in the second chapter，includingpreparation, process and practice. And the practical difficulties encountered in the processwere described. The first is the difficulties in translation caused by the lack of knowledgeabout patent translation rules，the second is vocabulary translation difficulties caused byinsufficient reserves, the last is the translation difficulties result of inadequate analysis of longcomplex sentences. The third chapter is focused on the full report. The author selects several examples toanalyze the problems in the second chapter and find out the corresponding countermeasuresfrom theories and techniques. Recognizing the difficulties caused by inadequate knowledge ofpatent translation rules, the author reads the translation requirements sent by the clientcarefully. Recognizing the vocabulary translation difficulties caused by insufficient reservesfollowed by patent, the author uses electronic dictionaries, online dictionaries and other toolsto find its corresponding Japanese translation carefully. Recognizing the translationdifficulties result of inadequate analysis of long complex sentences, The author uses theordinal translation and the split translation to translate the long complex sentences on theanalysis of a sentence structure flexibility. Finally, the author also makes a summary of thecommon in practice errors and correction method for later reference.In the last chapter, the author summarizes the merits and deficiencies in the practice ofthe translation, analyses the basic requirements for patent translation translators, and putforward her vision for the future development of the patent industry.The author learns a lot from this practice of translation, not only increased her level oftranslation, but also gains a new awareness about the patent translation industry.
