A Practice Report On The E-C Translation Of A Tender Of Petroleum Equipments

With the sustainable economic development and the continuous deepening of reform andopening up, the international communication has become more and more frequent. Therefore,China has involved in the international society, which indicates more cooperation,competitions, and exchanges in the international petroleum industry. The education andtraining in translation of petroleum equipment are promoted. Especially the translation oftechnical terms is the nodus and focus in translation between English and Chinese.Influenced by the practice experience, this article summarizes and analyzes thetranslation of petroleum equipment tender, and describes the features of it as well as skills andtools necessary in the translation. Especially, the article analyzes the translation of longsentences, technical terms, acronyms in a petroleum equipment tender and proposes solutions.Finally the practice report is competed. The author hopes the report can provide valuablereferences to the translation of similar type text.
