The characters of the Han Dynasty, which stand for a watershed in the development of characters’ history and play an important role in the development of characters’ evolution history,date back to fragrance of Qin dynasty and get down the regular script of Two Jins. The Han tablet provide not only the material for us to study the Han dynasty history, but also the most realistic and most original material for us to study philology. This paper based on The Complete Works on Han Tablet to research a total of285kinds and360articles of stone rubbings such as tombstone, cliff inscriptions, portrait of stone inscriptions, stone Que Ming, merit monument, notepad monument, etc. The writer applied statistics, analysis, classification and other methods to investigate Han tablet on the basis of the compiled Han tablet text.The whole passage is divided into four chapter:Chapter one:Introduction. A brief introduction of research materials, significance of the thesis and the study method.Chapter two:The general picture of Han tablet characters. The Han tablet, which has a complicated characters, emerging a total of2126words. This chapter choose the typical example to made a brief analysis of use of characters capable of replacing each other or variants of Chinese characters.Chapter three:The analysis on frequency of Han tablet’s characters using. The Han tablet’s high-frequency words focused on the objects, the action, the number and function words. Characters refer to the attribute and reference are relatively small, however, the Characters, which refer to the unit, appear in the high-frequency words. Chapter four:The analysis of characters which are not included in Shuo Wen Jie Zi, hereafter referred to as Shuo Wen, a Chinese dictionary-like book edited through the arrangement of radicals of Chinese characters in the Eastern Han Dynasty. According to the original order of Shuo Wen, the author parallelized and interpreted those characters which are not included in it one by one to illustrate the source and usage of them. Though some of those characters may not be found in time-honored literature works, some may be found in Han dynasty dictionaries, or in the famous studies in the six dynasties, or in Song Yuan dictionaries.There were three new supplementary characters and all of them were found in the early ancient literature.Two appendix:The code of monument name of Han tablet and character coding(the first volume).
