The later period of the Ming Dynasty is very important in Chinese history, which eachthoughts conflicted with each other. But this society has promoted the literature and art tomake great progress. Gui ZHuang(1613-1673) who was born in this time, was Gui YouGuang’s great-grandson, who was known as a litterateur. Gui Zhuang learn literature fromhis family tradition, which learn knowledge from the ancients, this opinion has an effect onhis calligraphy learn. Gui ZHuang learn calligraphy from “ER WANG”, and this made afoundation for him. In his middle age, he has affected by “Curious” ideological trend, hisCurrent Handwriting has shown off romanticism. At the same time Gui ZHuang combinewith his experience to form “the thick head and tangle each other” individual style, which isa special characteristics of art in the later period of the Ming Dynasty. And Gui ZHuang’slearning experience revealed the classical authoritatively has been reduced from the otherangle. And he combine his “disaster and unfortunate” literary and artistic thinking with hiscalligraphy which showed his unique character.
