Gui Zhuang Study

Guizhuang is one of the important writers during the period of late Ming dynasty and early Qing dynasty. The academic circles pay less enough efforts on the study of Guizhuang for a long time. This thesis try to describe the archetype of him and his writing in history through some related historical records, in order to do some help in the study of Guizhuang. There are 4 parts in this thesis. Part one is "exploration and account of author's life", mainly describes and explores the era condition of Guizhuang, the feature of his thought and character and his association and travel. Part two is "the exploration clue of author's thought". Basing on carding Guizhang's real doing idea and his idea on Confucianism and Buddhism, this part emphasizes on discussing the change of Guizhuang's political idea and political attitude. Part three is "the theory and creation of author's poem", this part takes the emphasis on Guizhang's poetical theory "going deep into one's knowledge and cultivating one's character", demonstrates a series of Guizhuang's poetical theories which are with the distinctive feature of times. And also analyzes Guizhang's two kinds of poem-the poem on national affairs and the poem on appreciating flowers, which is classified by the theme of his poem. Part four is "the theory and creation of author's prose", basing on carding the origin and source of inheritance of Guizhuang's prose, emphasizes on discussing his inheritance and development of Guiyouguang's prose.
