Qualify Comparative Analysis Of Influences Of Medical Services Provision Pattern On Pharmaceutical Price

From the international experience, it is necessary to control drug price. However, the pharmaceutical exorbitant price does have its origin, because of the irrational medical services pattern. This paper is based on the background of our present medical situation and started from the way of medical treatment system.This paper is first settled on the qualitative analysis and put the notice on the content of medical treatment pattern, finding the way of how to influence the pharmaceutical price. Based on the development of the health care, the two parts can be seen. The first is the doctor services(primary medical care), the second is hospital services, including secondary and tertiary services. Payment methods(PM) is involved in the hospital services and the Hierarchical diagnosis and treatment(HDAT) is about hierarchical hospital services. This analysis is used for the followed quantitative analysis and provides four hypothesis, seperated as the doctor induced demand(MID) can result in the high price of drug, the short of the institute of HDAT can lead to the pharmaceutical exorbitant price, irrational payment system can lead to pharmaceutical exorbitant price, irrational hospital cost complement can result in pharmaceutical exorbitant price.Then the paper is used in the way of qualify comparative analysis(QCA), integrating 30 countries and testing the four hypothesis. The result is described as the most significant reason about the high pharmaceutical price is the irrational hospital cost compliment and the doctor induced demand. And compared with the HDAT, and PM, these two are the most important aspects. From the 30 cased countries, we know that although there are different reason groups, the key elements are the hospital cost compliment and the doctor induced demand.
