The Effect Of Intraoperative Hypothermia In Children

Intraoperative hypothermia has lots of inadverse affects on the body,so it becomes the focus of research’s attention gradually. Children are more special than the adults,the difficulty and the risk of surgery is larger,the intraoperative hypothermia on children threaten the safety of life.since 2006,the surgical care improvement project defined the manage of normothermia as the necessary mission.When the core body temperature(CBT) is below 36°C,we call it hypothermia. Hypothermia is a common complication of surgery and anesthesia, the incidence of perioperative hypothermia can be up to 50%.Many factors can result in hypothermia, the main factors include anaesthesia,surrounding temperature,the use of cold flushing liquor,the infusion of cold fluid,the cold disinfector. Hypothermia can lead to the disturbance of body homeostasis, such as shivering, the numb uncomfortable feeling, coagulation disturbance, circulation complications,lowered immune defenses and high surgical wound infections. This following article reviewes the thermoregulatory, reasons of the intraoperative hypothermia in children, the effect on body and the preventive measures.
