| The lack of stereoscopic imaging, spatial orientation and depth perception in plane image information of two-dimensional(2D) laparoscopy require long-term standardized training of the surgeons. In order to overcome these drawbacks, three-dimensional(3D) laparoscopic system came into being, has opened a new era of precise minimally invasive surgery. 3D laparoscopy assisted colorectal radical resection has been widely applied in many countries and regions. 3D High Definition(HD) laparoscopy can provide stereoscopic vision and better sense of depth to facilitate precise operation, decrease the operation difficulty and time, and reduce the complications of operation. The high-definition 3D vision also allows surgeons to quickly improve surgical skills and shorten the learning curve. Moreover, there was no additional cost of operation. while it has limitations,3D laparoscopic body does not like the traditional 30 ° mirror as 360° free rotation. Although there are still many defects,With the accumulation and improvement of clinical data and the update of the system, the prospect of 3D HD laparoscopy system assisted colorectal radical resection is promising. The author gives a comprehensive presentation about the principle, and characteristics of 3D laparoscopic techniques and application status, and future prospects of 3D laparoscopy-assisted colorectal radical resection. |
