Research Progress Of Striae Gravidarum

Striae gravidarum are dermal linear lesions produced during pregnancy, which are very common in clinical practice.The prevalence of striae gravidarum associated with pregnancy ranges from 60% to90%.Once striae gravidarum occur,they are difficult to eradicate,therefore they can have a deep physical and psychological impact on patients.The origins of striae gravidarum are poorly understood.Currently mechanical tension on skin during pregnancy and hormone levels are considered to be the main pathogenesis of striae gravidarum.There are still many risk factors involved in the occurrence and development of striae gravidarum,which need further studies to confirm.Striae gravidarum show dark red or purple in the early stage,white or silver late,and can be divided into several types according to their clinical manifestations in different periods.There are many therapies reported in the literature at home and abroad,including topical therapy, therapy with equipment, needling therapy and combination therapy.But they are all experimental treatments,and their efficacy remains controversial.This article reviewed the recent development of striae gravidarum at home and abroad.
