Atrial fibrillation(AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia, resulting in patients at risk of thrombosis. its prevalence is rising year by year as a disease of high prevalence, morbidity and mortality.Although the methods of treatment including drugs and radiofrequency ablation, etc,but the treatment effect about it is not ideal, and its recurrence rate is very high.In recent years, a large number of epidemiological and clinical studies have shown that obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) has played an important role in the development of atrial fibrillation.OSAHS independently trigger atrial fibrillation. The severity rating of OSAHS and the incidence of atrial fibrillation is positively correlated. And if patients with severe OSAHS, whether by drugs, cardioversion or radiofrequency ablation, the AF success rate was significantly decreased, and the AF relapse rate was significantly higher. However, clinicians pay lack of sufficient attention to the screening, diagnosis and treatment of OSAHS.So this paper reviewed the contents of this aspect.Currently the pathogenesis of atrial fibrillation from patients with OSHAS is not entirely clear.Repeated acute and chronic sleep apnea events can initiate hypoxemia, hypercapnia, increased negative intrathoracicpressure. All of those pathophysiological changes can induce sympathetic-vagal dysfunction, inflammatory cytokines increase, thereby damage OSHAS patient’s cardiovascular system and then trigger fibrillation. We still expect to explore its accurate mechanism, which will provide more new ideas for the treatment of atrial fibrillation in patients with OSAHS.nasal continuous positive airway pressure(nCPAP) can significantly improve the treatment efficiency of atrial fibrillation, and avoid unnecessary intervention. With prolonged treatment,nCPAP can improve patients’ prognosis. In recent years, low-intensity vagus nerve stimulation(LLVNS) and renal Sympathetic denervation(RDN) become the new study hotspotS of experts for the treatment of patients with AF and OSHAS, which provide some new treatment options for the clinicians.Except for above therapeutic methods, the treatment for complications is also very important.
