Objective:This study was designed to observe the platelet activation in patients with diabetes mellitus.Methods:Forty-two patients were randomly divided into diabetes group under general anesthesia(20) and non-diabetes group under general anesthesia(22).Blood samples were collected at entrance of operation room(T0), immediately after recovery of anesthesia in general anesthesia patients(T1) and 24 hours after surgery(T2). P-selection(CD62P),platelet count(PLT) and mean platelet volume(MPV) were moniitored before surgery(T0),T1 and T2. Diagnosis of type 2 diabetes according to oral glucose tolerance test and diabetic history,CD62 P by flow cytometry analyzer,MPV and PLC by using automatic blood cell analyzer test. Results:Compared with the control group, the CD62 P levels of diabetic patients were elevated in T0 and T1(p<0.05).P-selection in T2 showed a downward trend in diabetic patients, but there was no statistical difference(p>0.05).The PLT of diabetic patients was elevated in T0(p<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups in T1 and T2(p>0.05). MPV between diabetic and non-diabetic patients had no statistical difference in T0,T1 and T2.Conclusions:P-selection expressin significantly elevated in patients with diabetes in the preoperative and postoperative.Platelet activity monitoring is important in the process of development of diabetes complications.
