Objective:Analyse the correlation between lumbar disc degeneration and primary osteoporosis. Methods:We selected a total of 338 cases from orthopedic cases of our hospital between 201404 and 201504, imaging and BMD examination were operated on the lumbar spine of all the 338 cases. Then we measured and had the degree of lumbar disc degeneration A(according to Pfirrmann’s method of MRI classification of lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration),the average lumbar disc MRI-T1ρ and the average BMD(T).At last, the relevance between A and B(B=T value)、B and the MRI-T1ρwere evaluated with correlation analysis. Results:The degree of lumbar disc degeneration A was significantly correlated with the BMD(T value)(r=-0.206, P<0.01);the lumbar disc MRI-T1ρvalue was significantly correlated with the BMD(T value)(r=0.312, P<0.01). Conclusion:There is a significant correlation between lumbar disc degeneration and primary osteoporosis.Lumbar disc degeneration degree was negatively correlated with bone mineral density(r=-0.206, P<0.01).Lumbar disc MRI-T1ρvalue was positively correlated with bone mineral density(r=0.312, P<0.01).
