Objective:To analyze the causes and relevant risk factors of atrial fibrillation(AF) in patients after pacemaker implantation and observe the relationship between ventricular pacing proportion and the incidence of AF and cardiac function. Methods:One hundred and thirty patients suffered from sick sinus syndrome(SSS) or atrioventricular block(AVB) were implanted with dual-chamber pacemaker and followed up 1 year, which Cum%VP, Echocardiography parameters and AF were recorded after implantion. Patients were divided into AF group and non-AF group according to the occurrence of AF,whose clinical events were compared before and after operation.Results:1.Forty-five patients with new-oneset AF were divded into AF group and the others without AF were divided into non-AF group. The clinical data of these two groups was essentially in agreement with each other, except the difference of ages, basic diseases and the type of pacemakers.2.The logistic regression on multiple factors analysis showed that Cum%VP, LAD,basic diseases and the type of pacemakers were related to the occurrence of AF after pacemaker implantion(r=2.545,0.882,-0.799,-1.400,all P<0.05).3.Compared with the Cum%VP in non-AF group, the one in AF group increasedsignificantly(P<0.001).Cum%VP had a positively linear correlation with the risk of AF and AFB(P <0.001).Cum%VP had a positively linear correlation with LAD and LVEDD,while a negatively linear correlation with LVEF(P < 0.001).Conclusion:Higher percentage of ventricular pacing, LAD,basic dieases and the type of pacemakers may be recommended as the risk factors to monitor the currence of AF after pacemaker implantion.Furthermore, with the increase of the proportion of ventricular pacing, the risk of AF increases, and the heart function gradually deteriorates.
