Objectives:T he aim of this study was to evaluate the postion height of the patella after total knee arthoplasty due to the eversion degree of the patella dusing the surgery. Methods: 84 cases of total knee arthroplasty were randomized divided into two groups.group 1: patellar eversion 90° + 5 °(a total of 45 cases) and group 2: patellar eversion 180° + 10 °(a total of 39 cases), midline incision surgical method all take patellar ago, the road near the medial patellar, are performed by the same name experienced performer in strict accordance with the requirements of operation is completed, all the 85 cases of surgery in the patients before and after the replacement knee X-ray at follow-up, application Insall- salvati method to measure the height of the patella, observing patellar happening in groups, low and comparison, in Blackburne Peel index to eliminate pseudo low postoperative patella. This study will appear patellar tendon shortening by more than 5% considered patellar height change. Results: In group 1, patellar tendon shortening of a total of 7 cases(incidence rate 15.6%), and group 2 total 20 cases of patellar ligament relationship(51.3%). There was no significant difference in operation time, bleeding during operation and so on.Conclusion: In primary total knee arthroplasty, excessive valgus patellar can lead to reduced the height of the patellar tendon shortening, intraoperative patellar eversion 90° + 5 ° is helpful to reduce the incidence of acquired low patellar.
