Objective: To analyze the surgical treatment of cervical spondylosis with sympathetic symptoms and its causes.Methods: Forty-one patients who suffered with cervical spondylosis and complained of sympathetic symptoms such as vertigo, headache, ect, were reviewed from 2010 to 2014 in our hospital. Surgical treatment is implemented when the conservative treatment failed. All the patients had the SAS(Self-rating anxiety scale) test before the surgery. The JOA(Japanese Orthopedic Association, 17 points) and SF-36(The MOS item short from health survey) score were recorded and evaluated, the 20 points of sympathetic system and patient’s satisfaction were evaluated to the sympathetic symptoms.Results: All the patients were followed up for 6~41 months [average 24.05±12.01 months] and the SAS test were normal(<50 points). The average JOA, SF-36 and the 20 points of sympathetic system score were significant statistical differences between preoperative and postoperative, the satisfactory evaluation was excellent in 23 cases, good in 12 cases, fair in 4 cases, bad in 2 cases, the effective rate was 85.37%.Conclusion: Surgical treatment can remittance sympathetic symptoms of the cervical spondylosis patients.
