Object This study investigates the relationship between personality dimensions of Myers and Briggs Types Indictor(MBTI) and job satisfaction in the ‘young’nurse. The lever of job satisfaction and the distribution of personality dimensions among the ‘young’ nurse in Qingdao can be known in this research. The purpose of this study is to explore the theoretical basis and its feasibility of the MBTI′s Application in nursing management preliminarily.Method Demographic information questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI) Form M and the Mc-Closkey/Mueller Satisfaction Scale(MMSS) were distributed among three hundred and two the ‘young’ nurse who work in three hospitals in Qingdao during December 2014 and March 2015.One-way ANOVA were performed to reveal personality and their impact on job satisfaction. Date are analyzed by Excel 2007 and SPSS 17.0.Result(1) The average score of the ‘young’ nurses’ job satisfaction were(3.10±0.36).(2) there is no statistical significance to job satisfaction between gender, education, department,working age, position,job title, income.the average score of each dimension as follows: the relationship with Colleague(3.79±0.80),the admiring and approval in working(3.36±0.79),the chance to dominate and make a decision(3.16±0.81),the satisfaction of Working schedule(3.02±0.95),the chance to communicate with other professionals and Social Communications(2.97±0.96),the chances to Professional development(2.70±0.81),the balance between work and job(2.65±0.87),welfare(2.45±0.94).(3)Two of the most popular type in the young nurses are INTJ and INFJ,and then ISTJ and ISFJ.There is no statistical significance to MBTI Type between gender, education, department, working age, position, job title, income(P>0.05).(4)There is no statistical significance to different MBTI Type′s job satisfaction in the young nurses(P>0.05).(5)There was statistical significance between the job satisfaction of different types on plays in shaping future job intentions and the chance of professional communication or Social activities’(P<0.05).Conclusion The lever of young nurses′ job satisfaction is lower middle. The MBTI can be used in young nursing management throng its effection to nurses′ characters. MBTI is advised to apply to management for personalized management strategy. Before using personality traits as a management tool for training and manage employees, It is important to understand the relationship of particular personalities to job satisfaction. It is also important to know the preference of each personality.the lever of young nurses′ job satisfaction should be improve to stable the nursing team and enhance the quality of nursing service.
