Objective: To study the symptoms in coal miners with allergic rhinitis( AR), to evaluate symptoms and quality of life in coal miners with allergic rhinitis, to conduct the correlations analysis between the evaluation indexes in rhinoconjunctivitis quality of life questionnaire(RQLQ),and to improve the living standards, improve their quality of life. Methods: A total of 100 coal miners with allergic rhinitis in the Department of ENT during 2013-2014 and A total of 100 normal coal miners aged 25-45 years were adopted for experiments. There were no significant difference between their age(P>0.05). Diagnostic criterion referred to the conference of Lanzhou in 2004 "the principles of diagnosis and treatment of allergic rhinitis and Recommendations". According to se verity of rhinitis symptoms, patients with allergic rhinitis were divided into mild allergic rhinitis, moderate allergic rhinitis, severe allergic rhinitis. The scores of quality of life adopted RQLQ developed by Juniper. RQLQ(rhinoconjunctivitis quality of life question-naire) was used to evaluate 7 aspects and 28 items in coal miners with allergic rhinitis(AR): Daily activities, sleep, non-nose / eye symptoms, practical problems, nasal symptoms, eye symptoms, mood. According to the standard score for grading, related statistical analysis was conducted after the completion of the questionnaire, the correlations between the different items were analysised in RQLQ. Depending on the severity of their representative dysfunction, each question used a scale of 1-6. The lower the score, the lighter the damage, the better the quality of life. Results: 1.There were significant differences among the seven aspects of RQLQ(P<0.05)between coal miners with allergic rhinitis(AR)and normal coal miners. 2.There are significant differences among the 7 aspects of RQLQ in coal miners with AR(P<0.05). 28 items of RQLQ scale with AR were statistically significant(P<0.05). The scores of nasal blockage, sneezing, rhinorrhea and rhinorrhea deep into the throat were the highest, there were no statistically significant differences among them(P>0.05). Nasal symptoms aspect was the most affected aspect of quality of life. 3.Correlation analysis shows that: 3.1 Nasal symptoms were significantly correlated with non-nose /eye symptoms(r=0.76,P<0.05). 3.2 Nasal symptoms were significantly correlated with eye symptoms(r=0.84,P<0.05. 3.3 Nasal symptoms were correlated with daily activities, slee p, practical problems, mood(r=0.64,P<0.05;r=0.59,P<0.05;r=0.53,P<0.05;r=0.61,P<0.05).Conclusion: 1. Quality of life in coal miners with AR was significantly affected, compared with the healthy coal miners. 2.Allergic Rhinitis severely affected quality of life in coal miners with allergic rhinitis, and blockage, sneezing, rhinorrhea and rhinorrhea deep into the throat were the main symptoms. 3. Correlation analysis shows that: Nasal symptoms were the main cause of non-nose / eye symptoms and eye symptoms. Nasal symptoms may affect daily activities, sleep, practical problems, mood in coal miners with AR. 4. Treating allergic rhinitis in coal miners need to pay attention to precaution and early treatment.
