Objective: In China, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease has very high morbidity in respiratory diseases. Airway inflammation can cause deterioration of patients into the acute exacerbation stage. Airway inflammation aggravates the patient’s condition and leads to reduced lung function. This is an important part of the development process. Therefore, the inflammatory markers has important reference value for the assessment lung function and severity of disease.Through the determination of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) patients from Xining area with acute exacerbation period(before the treatment),stable period( after treatment) the level of procalcitonin(PCT)and serum amyloid A(SAA)demission of content difference,to discuss with AECOPD inflammatory markers in lung function relationship, for clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients with AECOPD provided new methods. Methods:Selected 60 elderly AECOPD patients who stayed in a hospitalin respiratory division from Xining Region and 15 healthy volunteers for health examination in the Hospital of Qinghai University from December 2014 to December 2015. The diagnosis criteria of all patients was based on compliance with the GOLD 2015. The patients were divided into acute exacerbation group(before treatment) and remission group(after treatment), 15 cases with medical center healthy subjects as controls. According the lung function in AECOPD patients with mild、moderate、 severe and extremely severe, they were divided into group A、group B and group C. By measuring the serum PCT, SAA determination, study the relationship between PCT, SAA content and disease COPD patients.Results:(1)The content of PCT and SAA in acute exacerbation period were significantly higher than stable period and control group(P<0.05);(2)The content of PCT and SAA in stable period were higher than control group(P<0.05);(3)The content of PCT in groupC was significantly higher than that in group A and group B(P<0.05)。The content of PCT in groupB was significantly higher than that in groupA(P<0.05)。The content of SAA was no significant difference in groupA、groupB and groupC(P>0.05);(4)The content of PCT and FEV1/pre% had negative correlation(r=–0.77, P<0.05),The content of SAA and FEV1/pre% had no significant correlation(r =–0.33, P>0.05),The content of PCT and FEV1/FVC% had negative correlation(r=–0.56, P<0.05),The content of SAA and FEV1/FVC% had no significant correlation(r=–0.09, P>0.05)Conclusions: 1. PCT、SAA levels can be used as predictors in elderly patients with AECOPD from Xining Region。2. PCT、SAA levels can be used to determine the prognosis of patients with AECOPD。3. The level of PCT can be used to assess disease severity in patients with AECOPD, the level of SAA can be one of the auxiliary reference index。...
