Background:Wuxi tradional Medicine Hospital used to treat distal radius fractures with paper splint.During the clinical use, this paper splint has derived the moulding paper bracket splints and the anatomical shape paper bracket splint and other new products,after several times of redesign and improvement.Objective:This research used the latest developed anatomical shape paper bracket splint to treat patients with distal radius fractures, observing it’s convenience and clinical effect in actual use, comparing with the traditional willow splint and the moulding paper bracket splints at the same time. All the results were statistically analyzed, so as to provide reference for the clinical treatment of distal radius fractures.Methods:This study included 60 distal radius fracture patients from Wuxi tradional Medicine Hospital during May 2015 to December 2015.The patients were randomly divided into group A (20 cases),group B (20 cases) and group C (20 cases). Group A were treated with willow splint, group B were treated with the moulding paper bracket splints,and group C were treated with anatomical shape paper splint.All patients were observed for 10 weeks. Recording imaging indicators (radial inclination, the ulnar inclination, radial height) and the major clinical indicators of the two groups (splint fixed time, secondary fracture shift condition, complications of the patients, clinical fracture healing time, function scores of the wrist joint), using SPSS 19.0 to process all the data.Results:Through the clinical research, the results has shown that:as to the splint fixed time, group C take less time than group A and group B (P<0.05);As to the secondary fracture shift condition, group C happen less than group A and group B (P<0.05);As to the complications of the patients, group C happen less than the group A and group B (P<0.05);As to the clinical fracture healing time, group C are approximately equal to group A and group B (P>0.05);As to the later function scores of the wrist joint, group C score higher than group A and group B;As to the indicators of X ray film imaging after 6 weeks of external fixation with splint,the radial inclination and the ulnar inclination of the 3 groups are similar (P>0.05), the radial height of group A are better than the other two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:The difference of the 3 groups has shown that the anatomical shape paper splint is more convenient and can reduce the complications than the willow splint and the moulding paper bracket splints in clinical use.
