[Objective]:1. To survey the primary impact of the traditional korean medicine sanshen powder on study and memory capacity for the vascular dementia rats,besides, to research the ability of space exploration of the traditional korean medicine sanshen for the vascular dementia rats.2. Vascular dementia models were induced by adopting to interdict bilateral arteria carotid. except for the sham-operation group,the others were injected Sodium Nitoprusside and clamped bilateral carotid artery,the all of the rats will forcely took medicines by continuous 28 day from the operations next day, the sham-operation group, the Model group, the hydergine tablet group, the middle dosage of the traditional korean medicine sanshen powder, the big dosage of the traditional korean medicine sanshen powder, taking the distilled water 10ml/kg、distilled wate 10ml/kg、 hydergine liquid0.6mg/kg、traditional korean medicine sanshen powder 9g/kg、traditional korean medicine sanshen powder 18g/kg in turn, then the process Morris water maze test the rats ethological variation about drug therapy front and back, besides taking out the all of the rats brains, making the paraffin section, Observing the structural and morphological and the numbers of hippocampal neuron CA1 nerve cell change used to the HE staining, and testing the number of the apoptosis used to the tunnel staining.[Result]:1.the experiments of Morris water maze proves that the results are successful (P<0.05) by comparing the sham-operation group with the Model group, the contrast of the Model group and the hydergine liquid group and the big dosage of the traditional korean medicine sanshen powder are obvious (P<0.05), the rats ability of study and memory are significance comparing the Model group with the middle dosage of the traditional korean medicine sanshen powder at the second day and the fourth day (P<0.05). there are not different the hydergine liquid group with the big dosage of the traditional korean medicine sanshen powder and the middle dosage of the traditional korean medicine sanshen powder (P<0.05)2. According with the HE staining, we see the sham-operation group hippocampal neuron CA1 nerve cells mostly are oval and regularly arranged, the size and the shape were same, the Model group hippocampal neuron CA1 nerve cells mostly are disorder in the rank and structure and shape., the hydergine liquid group, the middle dosage of the traditional korean medicine sanshen powder, the big dosage of the traditional korean medicine sanshen powder compaing with the Model group,the hippocampal neuron CA1 nerve cells are mostly relatively regular and oval.3. The traditional korean medicine sanshen powder effectively improve the ability of study and memory for the VaD model rats.2. The traditional korean medicine sanshen powder promote the Vascular dementia rats structural and morphological change.3. The traditional korean medicine sanshen powder decrease the number of hippocampal neuron CA1 apoptosis of the Vascular dementia rats.
